About Us
Catherine Rains is a mum of three young children, a dog trainer, and a breeder of Working Kelpies on a farm in Cootamundra, New South Wales. She has been dabbling in writing poetry since childhood, and is really enjoying creating rhyming picture books for children (her own included!). Not knowing how to find a publisher, she went on a learning adventure and decided to self-publish her books under the imprint name "Louey's Library", which she named after her first dog Louey. As a self-described "non-artist", Catherine also decided to illustrate her books herself, and whilst this has had a steep (and ongoing) learning curve, she is surprised to find that she loves illustrating almost as much as she loves writing.

Do you dream about being an Author?
Have you always wanted to write your own Children's Book but not known how to go about it? I had the poem for "The Sheepdog who was Afraid of Sheep" in my head for years (nearly a decade actually!) and whilst I thought it would make a great Children's Book, I had no idea how to do that. That was until I found the most wonderful course put together by the super-talented Laura Feldman of Little Ivory Haus. Laura's step-by-step course has all the information you need to create your own Children's Book, from constructing the initial storyboard, through to finding an illustrator and publishing your very own book. Not only is the course fantastic, but Laura has also created a truly wonderful support group on Facebook where you can ask questions, seek advice and be inspired by what others are up to. If you're interested in learning more, you can find the course information here.
